Ole Jørgen Ness

Ole Jørgen Ness (b. 1961 in Bergen, Norway) lives and works in Oslo.

Ness works primarily with painting, drawing, sculpture and installation art. His practice also includes relational projects such as Herslebsgate 10, an artist run gallery based in Oslo from 1992-98.

Ness received his education in Oslo from The Arts and Crafts School graduating in 1988, and from The National Academy of Arts graduating in 1993. Ness has since participated in numerous exhibitions in Norway and abroad, exhibiting in venues such as The Sao Paulo Biennial, (Brazil), The Contemporary Arts Center, Cincinnati, (USA), Kunstlerhaus Bethanien, (Berlin), W 139, (Amsterdam), Queens College, (Melbourne), Nordic House, (Reykjavik) Display, (Prague), The Nordic Art Center, (Helsinki), Stadtgallerie, Kiel, (Germany), Bergen Kunsthall, (Norway), Kunstnernes Hus, (Oslo), Astrup Fearnley Museum, (Oslo), The National Museum of Art, (Oslo), Northern Norway Art Museum, (Tromsø), Galleri Riis, (Oslo), Momentum, Moss, (Norway) and Sørlandets Kunstmuseum, Kristiansand, (Norway)

Recent exhibitions include FLAT ACRYLIC, KODE Bergen Art Museum, Norway (2019), PERPETUAL ELEGY, Oslo kunsthandel, (2018), ATARAXIA and The Black Flag (in collaboration withMarit Følstad) at Galleri Haaken, Oslo (2016)

His work is included in numerous collections both public and private in Norway and abroad.
