Marius Martinussen

Painting

Marius Martinussen (b. 1978, Kristiansand) is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki and the Academy of Fine Arts in Trondheim. Over the last 15 years Martinussen has explored the possibilities of abstraction on canvas. From having previously combined several pictorial expressions, Martinussen has in recent years moved towards a cleaner formal expression with a desire to refine this. In these works, we generally find a relatively strict geometry where all points and lines relate to the golden ratio.

Martinussen is represented in a number of public collections, including the Norwegian Cultural Council, Statoil, the Norwegian Shipowners' Association, Norges Bank, Art in the Workplace, Haugesund Art Museum and Trondheim Municipality.
