Untitled

The silkscreens untitled, 2019 are Sindre Braathen's first graphic artwork.

Four layers of self-mixed colors in Braathen's distinct color scheme and 16 kg of carefully selected paper form the starting point for the silkscreens. The motifs were drawn freehand, directly on transparencies, in contrast to print, which is often used for silkscreens. After the process of emulsion and frames, each layer of color was physically dragged back and forth with a squeegee across the silk cloths. In the finished screen prints, you can see differences in the details, where there are fields with more and less colour. This provides graphic qualities that give a unique quality to each individual print in the series.
